Management at the 80th Street Residence has been busy raising the bar of service in the past few months, so we were delighted to be featured in the Assisted Living Consult journal under the headline: 'Striving for Excellence in Care for Dementia Residents.'

The article highlighted the homey facilities and quality care provided by The 80th Street Residence. It noted the initiative shown by the staff, anticipating and providing for the needs of the Residents well beyond the laws and regulations. It also mentioned the ongoing program of constant improvement, manifested through periodical self-evaluation and even inviting the Alzheimer's Federation of America to inspect, evaluate, and propose enhancements.

“There is always room for improvement and growth,” explains Clare Shanley, Executive Director of The 80th Street Residence. “I like to . . . learn what new things might make us even better. We look to be role models,” she says, “Not followers.”
